Port Joli Beach House
Emsik Beach House is a truly
private holiday retreat. Built at the end of small cove along
the shores of Port Joli Harbour, Queens County, this one and a half
storey beach house offers everything you imagined in a Nova
Scotia vacation. Breathtaking sunsets, spectacular ocean views and
5000 feet of white, sandy beach await you. Available for weekly rental
only, Emsik Beach House is the perfect place for a romantic getaway or
a relaxing escape from the city.
The warm
water and sandy shoreline offer great sun bathing and swimming
opportunities; the abundance of shorebirds and harbour seals are a
delight to nature lovers and birders; and the close proximity to hiking trails within
provincial and national parks* all provide for a memorable vacation
experience.
Designed to comfortably
accommodate a single person, couple with two children or two couples, the beach house is tastefully furnished and
fully equipped. The
inclusion of satellite television, a well-stocked library with plenty
of local reference material, two
washrooms, a large changing room and shower, a queen size bed and a double futon,
wood and electric heat and a propane barbecue all help to complete the
picture.
*Emsik Beach House is a 5
minute drive from spectacular
Kejimkujik National Park
(Seaside
Adjunct) and about 15 minutes by kayak (across the harbour) from
The
Thomas Raddall Provincial Park. Both wilderness parks are among the
best in Atlantic Canada.
'Emsik' is the
Mi'kmag name for Port Joli, meaning "blown along by the
wind." Several thousand Mi'kmag Indians summered in Port Joli
until the late 18th century.
